檳州首席部長林冠英起訴《馬來西亞前鋒報》勝訴，獲賠20萬令吉，並承諾將這筆錢用在公益用途。
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng walked out jubilantly after winning the defamation suit against Utusan. The line-up of Exco members there to support CM Lim Guan Eng are YBs Chow Kon Yeow, Wong Hon Wai, Abdul Malik Kassim, Lydia Ong, Phee Boon Poh, Lim Hock Seng and Lau Choo Kiang. The judgement was delivered by Justice George Varughese. CM Lim was awarded RM200,000 in aggravated damages and the defendant, Utusan Malaysia was ordered to pay RM25,000 costs. CM Lim has pledged that he will donate the money to charitable organisations when the case is settled. At the moment, according to CM Lim's lawyer Jagdeep Singh, the defendant may still appeal. CM Lim thanked his lawyer Jagdeep Singh who has handled the defamation case against Utusan. In closing,CM Lim said, "We thank God that truth is uphold."
